What if there was a app that could support university students after school hours?

This project started with a personal experience .

I grew up in South Auckland (Manurewa), New Zealand. South Auckland has always been painted out as a “high crime rate area.” South Auckland gets a bad representation from social media and especially the news. Growing up in Manurewa all I saw were people trying to get by off ends meet. I was a hardworking student and saw many other teenagers like myself trying to get an education.

I myself had a very fortunate background but I had friends who struggled to even get the correct school uniform or who even had food to eat at lunch. Those friends of mine looked so tired and drained and I really started question "WHY?”

The year 2019 came by and then it became covid season. people who were struggling were still struggling to get by. I noticed that a lot of students had to lose their education to work just so they had food on their table.

That’s when I decided to create Learnify. Me coming into university during covid I felt like I didn’t have access to my education since I was a in person student. I decided to create learning app prototype to access school information and work just through a phone. I did chose a phone and tablet since some students can’t afford laptops.

Learnify has a easy navigation system. Simple login and sign up menu that will direct you to connect to your student Id. Learnify will have connections to all universities in New Zealand you just have to simply type in your student login and check with your school administrator for Learnify connections.

Learnify posts alerts and upcoming news about classes you are enrolled in just by simply logging in. You can click the notification bell in your settings to get notifications sent directly to your phone without having to open the app.

Learnify has sections for tutorials and workshops that have been recorded by your lectures. You can simply see scheduled sessions as well as pre recorded session by a click of a button, you will also find assignment files in the sessions as well if your lecture has added any to the class your enrolled in.
